Return to News Releases

November 2005: Barbara Elliott, Assistant Vice President & Human Resources Officer at Putnam Savings Bank, recently received the first Friend of Hospice Award from Hospice and Palliative Care of Northeastern Connecticut, an affiliate of Day Kimball Hospital in Putnam. The mission of Friends of Hospice is to support the Hospice Program through fundraising and by serving as advocates in educating the community about the purpose and benefits of the Hospice and Palliative Care Program.

Ms. Elliott has been a member of the Friends of Hospice Committee since 2002. "She has been an active and integral participant in all of our fundraising activities," stated Virginia Army, Director of Pastoral Care, in her presentation of the Award. "She has been an articulate and passionate spokesperson for the work that Hospice does in our community. It is an honor to work with Barbara."

In addition to her work with Friends of Hospice, Ms. Elliot is a member of the Day Kimball Hospital Women's Board and is an active volunteer with the Relay for Life, March of Dimes and Deary Road Race. A lifelong resident of northeastern Connecticut, Barbara has been employed at Putnam Savings Bank since 2000.
