November 2019 - Barbara Rasmussen

Barbara Rasmussen

Barbara Rasmussen was named Putnam Bank's Employee of the Month for November 2019. Barbara has been with the bank since September 1986, and currently serves as Assistant Treasurer & Assistant Controller. Barbara said, “I am surprised and honored to be chosen as the employee of the month. I am grateful to work with a great group of friends who have become family over the years." Barbara is a past committee member for both Day Kimball Heathcare's Walk & Race for NECT Cancer Fund and their D'Vine Wine Tasting events. She has participated in the Beat Breast Cancer 5K and the Northeast Opportunities for Wellness Road Race & Walk. She also spends time supporting the Brooklyn Elementary School along with their PTO, and the Brooklyn Recreation Department. Barbara enjoys spending time with Samantha, Stephen, Nova, and Sidney. She loves watching her grandchildren play sports, taking them on vacation, as well as watching movies and playing games with them. She also enjoys walking, hiking, and reading in her spare time. “Barbara has done a remarkable job over her many years at Putnam Bank. It's my distinct pleasure to recognize her exemplary work ethic and pleasant demeanor in all that's she has done for the bank," said Thomas A. Borner, President and CEO of Putnam Bank.

October 2019 - Nancy Kurek

Nancy Kurek

Nancy Kurek was named Putnam Bank's Employee of the Month for October 2019. Nancy has been with the bank since June 2005, and currently serves as Floating CSR Supervisor. Nancy said, “I'm very surprised and honored to be chosen for this recognition. Thank you! It's great when an employer recognizes and appreciates the contributions of their staff. Putnam Bank also does a great job encouraging and supporting their employees to give back to the communities where we live and work." Nancy has participated in many community events during her time with the bank including American Cancer Society Relay for Life, Habitat for Humanity Build Days, Norwich Rock the Docks, Griswold Snowflake Festival and Spooktopia! Trunk or Treat, Walk & Race for NECT Cancer Fund of DKH, NOW Road Race and Walk, Eastern CT Heart Walk, Beat Breast Cancer 5K, Sterling's Turkey Can-Can Road Race, and the Putnam Bank Thompson Turkey Trot (happening this weekend!). She also participates in A Reason to Ride's annual Flag Day Motorcycle Run for veterans in need, and is currently very involved with the musical group Mass Production as they prepare for reunion concerts coming spring of 2020 to raise funds for local scholarships. Nancy is currently enrolled in the Greater Norwich Area Chamber of Commerce Leadership Exploration & Development (LEAD) Program. She enjoys the beach and spending time with her husband, Rich, her mom, children, and grandchildren. “Nancy is an excellent member of our team, and her pleasant demeanor and work ethic is greatly appreciated," said Thomas A. September 2019 - Melissa Hendrickson

Melissa Hendrickson

Melissa Hendrickson was named Putnam Bank's Employee of the Month for September 2019. Melissa has been with the bank since September 2007, and currently serves as Griswold Branch Manager. Melissa said, “I was completely surprised and honored to be nominated for this award. I work with a great staff that makes coming to work easy. I love being part of an organization that gives back so much to our community." Melissa is an active member of the Greater Norwich Area Chamber of Commerce BizEd committee. She participates in community events such as the Quinebaug Valley Regional Rotaract Club's Cornhole Tournament and Trivia Night, as well as Griswold's Snowflake Festival & Parade and Spooktopia! Trunk or Treat. Melissa was the Team Captain of Putnam Bank's NOW Road Race & Walk team. She also served as a committee member for both the NOW Road Race & Walk, and Taste of NOW events. Melissa enjoys spending time with her husband John, her fur baby Holly May, family, and friends. She likes traveling, camping, going on adventures, and watching the Patriots win. “Melissa is an outstanding member of our Putnam Bank Team. She exemplifies all the best in community banking with her excellent service to the bank, and the communities we serve," said Thomas A. Borner, President and CEO of Putnam Bank.

August 2019 - Sandra Lisee

Sandra Lisee

Sandra Lisee was named Putnam Bank's Employee of the Month for August 2019. Sandra has been with the bank since March 1997, and currently serves as a Staff Accountant. Sandra said, “It is such an honor to be selected to receive the employee of the month award. It is rewarding to work for a company that recognizes and honors the contributions of its employee. Community banking at its best, and together we really do make a difference." Over the last 22 years at Putnam Bank Sandra has participated in the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life, the March of Dimes March for Babies, and Habitat for Humanity Build Days and Family Selection Committee. She recently took part in the Walk & Race for NECT Cancer Fund, and is looking forward to participating in the Northeast Opportunities for Wellness Lap the Lake and the Beat Breast Cancer 5K Run & Walk. Sandra has also volunteered for her church for the last 35 years. She is involved with the bank's Employee Giving Program, and the Putnam Bank Pep Squad. Sandra enjoys kayaking and spending time in Vermont with her husband as well as quilting, hiking, gardening, and reading. She loves spending time with her grandchildren, along with other family members and friends. “Sandra is a valuable team member. She is dependable, cheerful and competent, which makes her deserving of this recognition," said Thomas A. Borner, President and CEO of Putnam Bank.

July 2019 - Tyler Rabideau

Tyler Rabideau

Tyler Rabideau was named Putnam Bank's Employee of the Month for July 2019. Tyler has been with the bank since November 2017, and currently serves as Online Banking Representative. Tyler said, “I am very excited and honored to have been selected as employee of the month. Putnam Bank has helped me grow professionally, and I get to work with great people. Thank you!" Tyler has participated in the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life. He enjoys spending time with his girlfriend, Emily, his friends, and family. When not working, Tyler writes and produces music, plays guitar, mountain bikes, and hikes. “Tyler is competent, cheerful, and a pleasure to work with. His work ethic bodes well for his generation," said Thomas A. Borner, President and CEO of Putnam Bank.

June 2019 - Jennifer Weed

Jennifer Weed

Jennifer Weed was named Putnam Bank's Employee of the Month for June 2019. Jenn has been with the bank since September 2008, and currently serves as Quality Control Specialist. Jenn said, “I am shocked and honored to be nominated for this award. It is amazing to work with such a great group of people, and to work for a bank that is so involved in the community." Jenn participates in the Walk & Race for NECT Cancer Fund of DKH. Her hobbies include spending time with her two whippets, Juliet and Carmen, along with family and friends. In her free time Jenn enjoys walking, shopping, loom knitting, and sewing. “Jenn does an excellent job as a Quality Control Specialist in the Operations Department which is a critical part of the backroom support of banking operations. She is a model employee in what can be a challenging position," said Thomas A. Borner, President and CEO of Putnam Bank.

May 2019 - Amy Day

Amy Day

Amy Day was named Putnam Bank's Employee of the Month for May 2019. Amy has been with the bank since September 2013, and currently serves as Floating Head Teller/CSR. Amy said, “Wow, this was really unexpected, but a nice surprise." Amy participates in the Norwich Rock the Docks, charitable motorcycle runs, and supports numerous military organizations such as the Navy and Marine Core Relief Society. She has three wonderful dogs, and enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter, and going on their annual vacation to upper New Hampshire. She also enjoys gardening and canning. “Amy is an excellent member of our team and exemplifies the best in employee work ethic and enthusiastic volunteerism to help make our community a better place to live and work," said Thomas A. Borner, President and CEO of Putnam Bank.

April 2019 - Leslie Poitras

Leslie Poitras

Lee Poitras was named Putnam Bank's Employee of the Month for April 2019. Lee has been with the bank since August 1976, and currently serves as Deposit Operations Manager. Lee said, “I am honored to be nominated by my Putnam Bank family for this award. It's a privilege to work with such a caring group of people." Lee volunteers for the NECT Cancer Fund Walk & Race, Northeast Opportunities for Wellness Road Race & Walk. She is also involved with the Bowdish Lake Association. In her free time she enjoys kayaking, paddle boarding and flower gardening. She especially enjoys traveling on vacation to tropical locations with her husband, Glenn. Their favorites being Hawaii and Key West. “Lee is a long term, dedicated employee who is a great champion of the bank. She participates in most of the bank's outreach events, and has served on numerous committees over her nearly 43 years at Putnam Bank. Lee is a well-respected member of our team, and serves as an inspiration to us all", said Thomas A. Borner, President and CEO of Putnam Bank.

March 2019 - Jaimini Patel

Jaimini Patel was named Putnam Bank's Employee of the Month for March 2019. Jaimini has been with the bank since June 2016, and currently serves as CSR Supervisor of our Griswold Branch. Jaimini said, “I am pleased, honored and grateful for receiving the employee of the month award. I am very blessed to work with an amazing group of people at Putnam Bank." Jaimini is involved in community events which include the Now Road Race & Walk, Spooktopia Trunk or Treat, Griswold Snowflake Festival & Parade, Eastern CT Heart Walk, and Griswold Public Schools Open House. She enjoys spending time with her son, Viaan, and her husband, Vishal, along with her family and friends. She also enjoys traveling, shopping, watching movies and cooking. “Jaimini has been an exemplary member of the staff with outstanding customer service skills", said Thomas A. February 2019 - Michelle DeMarco

Michelle DeMarco was named Putnam Bank's Employee of the Month for February 2019. Michelle has been with the bank since December 2001, and currently serves as Head Teller of our Main Office. Michelle said, “I am so thankful and thrilled to be chosen for this award. I'm grateful to work with such an amazing group of people." Michelle volunteers at her children's school for various activities and sporting events. She enjoys traveling, camping, watching her children play baseball and basketball, and spending time with her family and friends. “Michelle has been with Putnam Bank since 2001 and has done a great job working her way up, and is now serving as head teller of the Main Office. Customers frequently remark to me on her pleasant demeanor and excellent work", said Thomas A. Borner, President and CEO of Putnam Bank.

January 2019 - Alaina Batchelder

Alaina Batchelder was named Putnam Bank's Employee of the Month for January 2019. Alaina has been with the bank since October 2010, and currently serves as CSR Supervisor in or Norwich Branch. Alaina said, “I was surprised and honored to be chosen for this award. I am truly grateful to work for a friendly, community bank." Alaina participates in the Norwich Rock the Docks event and Safe Futures' Christmas Adopt a Family program. She enjoys reading, baking, cross-stitching, and spending time with her husband and two children. “Alaina has been with Putnam Bank for nearly 9 years and has the spirit and skill set of which we are all proud", said Thomas A. Borner, President and CEO of Putnam Bank.

2018 Employee of the Year - Jennifer Hudock

Putnam Bank recently held their annual Employee Awards Banquet to honor employees for their continued service to the bank, its customers, and the community. Jennifer Hudock was named Putnam Bank's Employee of the Year for 2018. Jen has been with the bank since September 2002, and is currently the Compliance & BSA Manager. Jen is involved in community events which include Putnam's Holiday Dazzle Light Parade, Downtown Putnam Holiday Strolls Gingerbread House night, and Northeast Opportunities for Wellness (NOW) Road Race. She was recently sworn in as a member of the Pomfret Recreation Commission and volunteered for multiple recreation events over the past year. She enjoys quilting and gardening, and exploring the outdoors with her family. Jen resides in Pomfret with her husband Mark and their children, Blake and Paxton. “The theme this year for the Annual Awards Banquet was Superheroes. I am pleased that we have so many Superhero team members at Putnam Bank; and Jen is clearly one of them. She represents all the best attributes of a super hero with her excellent work skills, dedication, and community spirit." said Thomas Borner, Putnam Bank President & CEO.

December 2018 - Rosemary Place

Rosemary Place was named Putnam Bank's Employee of the Month for December 2018. Rose has been with the bank since August 2001, and currently serves as AVP Loan Coordinator & Retail Loan Underwriter. Rose said, “I am honored to be chosen as Putnam Bank's December Employee of the month. It's a pleasure working with such an amazing group of people." Rose participates in the Northeast Opportunities for Wellness Road Race & Walk and the Thompson Turkey Trot which benefits Thompson's trails, parks & playgrounds, and the TEEG Food Bank. She enjoys walking, and spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren. “Rose has been a valued staff member for her more than 17 years of service. It's work ethic, like Rose's, that helps fuel our success. She is an outstanding employee and a pleasure to work with", said Thomas A. Borner, President and CEO of Putnam Bank.

Pat Kovacik was named Putnam Bank's Employee of the Month for November 2018. Pat has been with the bank since July 2001, and currently serves as Commercial Loan Closing Officer. Pat said, “I am honored to be chosen as Putnam Bank's November Employee of the Month. It is a pleasure to be a part of the Commercial Loan Team. Their support, and that of my fellow Putnam Bank employees, makes my job very gratifying." Pat participates in the Walk & Race for NECT Cancer Fund, the Putnam Bank Float Committee for the Putnam Holiday Dazzle Light Parade, and supports all Bank community projects and fundraising for local charities. She enjoys spending time with her grandson, family, and friends. “Pat has done an outstanding job at Putnam Bank. She is a very important member of our commercial lending team as we continue to expand that area of our business. She is also a pleasure to work with," said Thomas A. Tara Perron was named Putnam Bank's Employee of the Month for October 2018. Tara has been with the bank since September 2001, and currently serves as Accounting Supervisor. Tara said, “I would like to express my sincere gratitude to my Putnam Bank family for recognizing me as October's Employee of the Month. I am blessed to work with an amazing group of people." Tara is involved in community events which include the iWarrior Walk & Race, NECT Cancer Fund Walk & Race, Northeast Opportunities for Wellness Road Race & Walk, and The Thompson Turkey Trot. She enjoys watching her son play basketball and baseball and supports the Tri-Town American Legion Baseball Team he plays for. Tara enjoys reading, watching movies, sewing, and spending time with her children, Joshua and Zachary. “Tara has been an excellent team member, and brings much experience and enthusiasm to our organization." commented Thomas A. September 2018 - Tammy Chabot

Tammy Chabot was named Putnam Bank's Employee of the Month for September 2018. Tammy has been with the bank since September 2007, and currently serves as  Executive Administrator. Tammy said, “I am honored and thrilled to be chosen for this award. I truly love being a part of such a great group of people." Tammy helps create the banks float for the Putnam Holiday Dazzle Light Parade, volunteers for PAWS Cat Shelter, and serves as Secretary for the Northeast CT Human Resources Association. She enjoys walking, reading, traveling, and spending time with her husband, Christopher, along with their family and friends.  “Tammy does a remarkable job for Putnam Bank. Her professionalism and the quality of her work is excellent, and she is a valuable member of our team. We all enjoy working with her." commented Thomas A. Borner, President and CEO of Putnam Bank.

August 2018 - Jonathan Demers

Jonathan Demers

Jonathan Demers was named Putnam Bank's Employee of the Month for August 2018. Jonathan has been with the bank since April 2004, and currently serves as a Floating CSR/Head Teller. Jon said, “I am at a loss for words. I am thankful that the people I work with think I should receive the nomination of Employee of the Month. It does take a team, so this is not mine alone. It goes to everyone." Jon is an actor at the Bradley Playhouse and The Little Theater on Broad Street. If he is not on stage, then he's part of the crew, or volunteering in the lobby. He is also a participant of Extra Life, a non-profit organization where thousands of gamers unite to play games in support of their local Children's Miracle Network Hospital. Jon supports the Connecticut Children's Medical Center in Hartford. Jon donates as much time, money, or both to local charitable organizations as possible. He said, “Why be in a community if you do not help?" “Jon exemplifies all that we expect from the best of our team members; work ethic, team spirit, and community engagement. I'm pleased that Jon is this month's recipient of this recognition" commented Thomas A. Borner, President and CEO of Putnam Bank.

July 2018 - Michelle Langlois

Michelle Langlois

Michelle Langlois was named Putnam Bank's Employee of the Month for July 2018. Michelle has been with the bank since October 2015. She currently serves as a Loan Processor. Michelle said, “I am humbled and honored to receive this award. I am grateful to work for Putnam Bank, a community-oriented, local business. It is a privilege to work with such a caring group of people in the Loan Center, and throughout the company." Michelle is involved in community events which include the Lion's Club Volleyball Challenge, O'Putnam Road Race, NECT Cancer Fund Walk & Race, Northeast Opportunities for Wellness Road Race & Walk, QVCC Tackle the Trail, and The Thompson Turkey Trot. She assists the Putnam Bank Pep Squad with team building events, and helped establish the PB Walking Club. Michelle is the President and an Interior trained Firefighter for the Quinebaug Volunteer Fire Department. She enjoys running, gardening, kayaking, and skiing. “Michelle is an important part of the fabric which makes Putnam Bank special, as a place to work and in the service of our customers. I'm proud of the contribution Michelle makes in both of these areas" commented Thomas A. Borner, President and CEO of Putnam Bank.

June 2018 - Jessica Reed

Jessica Reed was named Putnam Bank's Employee of the Month for June 2018. Jessica began her career with the bank in December 2000. She left in 2008 to start a family, and returned to the bank in July 2012. Jessica currently serves as Online Banking Specialist & Marketing Associate. Jessica said, “I'm honored to be appreciated and recognized with this award. I get to work with an incredible group of people every day. I'm grateful to be part of the Putnam Bank family." Jessica is involved in community events which include the Putnam Elementary School Community Reading Day, Northeast Opportunities for Wellness Road Race & Walk, QVCC Tackle the Trail, and The Thompson Turkey Trot. She assists the Putnam Bank Pep Squad with team building events, and is an active member of the East Woodstock Congregational Church. Jessica enjoys knitting, reading, hiking, and spending time with her husband, Andrew, and their children, Noelia and Anthony. “Jess does a remarkable job at Putnam Bank and we are lucky to have her as part of our team. May 2018 - Vicki Kirkconnell

Vicki Kirkconnell was named Putnam Bank's Employee of the Month for May 2018. Vicki has been with the bank since December 1997, and currently serves as a Senior Teller in our Pomfret Office.Vicki said, “I am very proud and honored to receive such an award. Also, grateful to be a part of the Putnam Bank team." Vicki is involved in community events which include American Cancer Society Relay for Life, Quinebaug Valley Regional Rotaract Club Trivia Night, Northeast Opportunities for Wellness Road Race & Walk. She loves serving her canine friends at the Pomfret drive-up window. Vicki resides in Dayville with her husband Randy, and their three fur babies.“I'm pleased to congratulate Vicki Kirkconnell our May Employee of the Month. Vicki has been a part of our team for 20 years and exemplifies the best in serving our customers. We appreciate her good work and cheerful demeanor. Katie Kovacik was named Putnam Bank's Employee of the Month for March 2018. Katie has been with the bank since November 2000, and currently serves as Senior Deposit Operations Clerk II.Katie said, “I am extremely humbled by this award. For all of the responsibilities that my co- workers and I share, all of us together, for me to be chosen? I will never be able to express how appreciative I am for being recognized this way."Katie's creative and artistic talents are demonstrated through the community events in which she's involved. She designs and constructs the scarecrow for the Annual Putnam Scarecrow Contest, assists with every aspect of the bank's float for the Putnam Holiday Dazzle Light Parade, and dresses up and hands out candy during the Downtown Putnam Trick-Or-Treat Street. She also manages and coordinates an employee snack box with the profits donated to various organizations throughout the community.“Katie's energy and enthusiasm are infectious. She has been an exemplary staff member for the last 17 years. This recognition is well deserved," commented Thomas A. Borner, President and CEO of Putnam Bank.

February 2018 - Rebecca Branch

Rebecca Branch was named Putnam Bank's Employee of the Month for February 2018. Becca has been with the bank since September 2009, and currently serves as Floating CSR Supervisor.Becca said, “I am humbled to be chosen as the February Employee of the month. I believe when we approach one another with kindness and compassion, there is nothing we cannot accomplish together. We succeed together, in part, because we recognize the value of each person in the Putnam Bank family."Becca is involved in community events, which include Norwich Dragon Boat Racing, Family Fun Day at Dodd Stadium, Red Cross Blood Drive, and Natchaug River Young Marines 5K Color Fun Run. She also volunteers her time with organizations including Samaritan's Purse, March of Dimes, American Red Cross, and Voice of Evangelism.“Becca does excellent work for the bank and serves our customers well. We are fortunate to have Becca, and so many other talented staff members, at the bank. Becca makes the increasingly complex job of banking easier for all of us. She writes in her spare time, and received word recently that her most recent book, Perseverance – How it All Began, has been published and will be available on Amazon within the next few weeks," commented Thomas A. January 2018 - Billy Gallagher

Billy Gallagher

Billy Gallagher was named Putnam Bank's Employee of the Month for January 2018. Billy has been with the bank since August 2016, and serves as Commercial Lending Credit Analyst.Billy said, “I am extremely honored to be selected as Putnam Bank's employee of the month and am very fortunate to be a part of the Commercial Lending Department. While I appreciate the individual recognition, this could easily be a team award."Billy volunteers his time coaching local youth sports organizations including Brooklyn Little League, New England AAU Baseball, and the Killingly Parks & Recreation Department Basketball League. He resides in Brooklyn with his wife Michelle and their two children, Jackson and Avery.“Billy works efficiently and effectively in his underwriting position in the Commercial Credit Department. His work has helped to support the well managed growth in the commercial loan portfolio. Maggie Bond Retires
